Sunway’s Nationwide Roadshow Rakes in RM50 Million In Sales Revenue

Sunway Kicks Off 50th Anniversary Celebrations With Nationwide Mega Roadshow

Sunway concluded its two-week nationwide Golden Jubilee Mega Roadshow raking in RM50 million in sales revenue. 

A key cornerstone of Sunway’s year-long celebrations, the Golden Jubilee Mega Roadshow drew over 200,000 patrons across Selangor, Penang, Perak and Johor with family-friendly entertainment, limited-time offers, and attractive prizes. 

Evan Cheah, Group CEO, Digital & Strategic Investments at Sunway Group, remarked, “We are pleased with the overwhelming support for our Sunway Golden Jubilee Mega Roadshow, which generated close to RM50 million in sales revenue. This reaffirms Sunway’s status as a globally trusted brand with a strong and reputable presence. 

The enthusiastic adoption of our Sunway Super App, which saw 28,000 new users and facilitated over RM6 million worth of transactions during the roadshow period, also indicates to us that our efforts on digital transformation journey are progressing well and bearing fruit.” 

Sunway Super App, the first-of-its-kind mobile app in Malaysia, offers users access to products and services across Sunway’s business divisions including Sunway Theme Parks, Sunway Malls, Sunway Property, Sunway Hotels & Resorts and Sunway Healthcare. The app also provides access to more than 1,500 of Sunway’s existing business partners and retail merchants. 

As part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations, Sunway will also be ramping up several corporate social responsibility initiatives in line with its commitment to do well by doing good and to leave no one behind.  

During this year’s Ramadan month, Sunway worked with several NGOs, including long-term partner Malaysian AIDS Foundation, to bring its signature festive cheer initiative #SunwayforGood Sinar Ramadan to the underserved communities throughout Malaysia. 

In July 2024, Sunway – RapidKL Good Run 2024 will welcome more than 10,000 runners in this one-of-a-kind running and fundraising event where all proceeds from the three categories of runs – 5KM, 10KM, 20KM, will be distributed to 50 charity homes nationwide. 

Sunway is also pledging to pack over 500,000 meals at its annual Meal Pack-a-thon drive in September 2024 for underprivileged communities in Malaysia and abroad. These packed meals, which adds to Sunway’s overall goal to pack two million meals by 2024, will go towards alleviating hunger and addressing food security among Orang Asli communities, orphanages, senior living homes, and B40 communities in the region. 

These efforts will complement a host of other initiatives under #SunwayforGood, Sunway’s corporate responsibility umbrella that pledges to promote sustainability efforts and social inclusion through three areas namely education, healthcare and community enrichment, such as building and refurbishing 50 libraries through the Sunway READ (Reading Enhances Aspiration and Drive) programme, and providing basic health screening in partnership with the National Kidney Foundation for 50 Orang Asal communities.
